Paul Johannsson – Founder and President
Mr. Johannsson has over 20 years of progressive industry and management experience with concentrations in GSE, legal, and mortgage servicing. He has previously held leadership roles with Freddie Mac, McCarthy and Holthus, PHH Mortgage, and BSI Financial Services. Paul and his teams throughout his career have managed hundreds of thousands of defaulted mortgages’ legal processes. Johannsson is also a partner in a construction and commercial cleaning firm, real estate broker/investor, note buyer, and private money lender. He started a solo consulting firm, O.L.A.F., in 2017. The firm is now an umbrella of companies that specializes in asset management and pool purchase diligence, law firm back-office consulting and strategizing, and servicer support and on-site staffing. Paul, in his spare time, is a total geology nerd and enjoys winetasting. His husband and him, when not working on their new business endeavors including a wellness center and specialty wine/beer speakeasy, can be spotted with their two dogs out on the lakes of the Carolinas or traveling the globe.
Michael Messick, J.D.
Director of Legal Support Services & Strategies
Mr. Messick has over a decade of experience in the mortgage servicing arena. He joined OLAF from Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing Corporation (SMS) where he served as the Attorney Network Manager. Prior to SMS, he spent time at RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing Corporation (RPMS) in various Default management positions. From management of Operations, Quality Assurance (QA), FC/BK Timeline Oversight, Project Management, and Attorney Network, he brings a special perspective to our team. Additionally, Michael holds a Juris Doctoral (JD) degree from completing law school prior to his start in default, which provides an even more important view and grasp of legal issues at hand. In his down time, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and twins on the lake or a golf course.
Sindy Garcia
Senior Manager of Billing Operations
Sindy Garcia serves as Billing Operations Manager at OLAF, bringing more than 15 years of experience in mortgage servicing, invoicing, collections, and default operations. She has held leadership roles with U.S. Bank, Freedom Mortgage, Goldman Sachs, Pacific Union Financial, Green Tree Servicing, MetLife, and Citi. Across these institutions, Sindy built a reputation for driving operational efficiency, strengthening compliance, and leading high-performing teams across foreclosure, bankruptcy, invoicing, and collections.
Most recently, as Senior Business Operations Analyst at U.S. Bank, Sindy oversaw invoice review for foreclosure, bankruptcy, litigation, and property preservation, developed department-wide policies and procedures, and presented business reviews to executive leadership. Prior to that, she served as Invoice Management Supervisor at Freedom Mortgage, where she managed a team of 12, directed vendor relationships, led audit and reconciliation processes, and implemented training for both domestic and offshore teams. Her career also includes overseeing foreclosure and bankruptcy portfolios at Goldman Sachs, Pacific Union, and Green Tree, where she ensured compliance with investor guidelines and legal standards.
At OLAF, Sindy leads billing operations end-to-end, including client management, KPI reporting, denial/adjustment oversight, resolutions, and collections strategy. Her ability to bridge client expectations, compliance frameworks, and operational performance ensures OLAF delivers timely, accurate, and accountable billing for every engagement.
Monica Salgado
Senior Manager of Billing Production
Ms. Salgado has a background in both the accounting and the default legal spaces from management of 2 large law firms’ accounting departments. In her experience she has overseen a 32 state law firm’s accounting group, including every stage of billing to collections. Monica oversaw compliance with investor and servicer guidelines and kept offices connected via her expert leadership approach to bridging gaps and creating synergies. She loves to spend time where she lives, in Miami, with her three beautiful children. Her daughter graduated from FIU and is working on her masters at the University of Miami. Monica’s son is a Paramedic employed with the fire department, recently joining the United States Coast Guard with the intention of becoming an Helicoper Rescue Swimmer and her little one starting his Junior year of high school. Monica Salgado is a seasoned expert in billing and accounting management, boasting 17 years of experience in driving efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. Since joining OLAF in 2022, Monica has led transformative initiatives to streamline billing processes, reducing cycle times and enhancing revenue recognition. She is known for her ability to train cross-functional teams and implement best practices in complex legal billing environments, leveraging tools like Aderant, CaseAware and Legal Tracker. Before joining OLAF, Monica excelled in leadership roles at Quintairos Prieto Wood & Boyer and Spear & Hoffman, where she managed multi-million dollar billing portfolios for both judicial and non-judicial cases, including FHA, FNMA, VA, and conventional loans. A trusted leader, Monica’s strategic insights have consistently supported financial decision-making through detailed reporting and data analysis.When she’s not streamlining billing operations, Monica enjoys spending time with her family in Miami, FL going to the beach and signing up for Crossfit and Hyrox competitions . A fluent Spanish speaker, she is also passionate about mentoring young professionals in the legal finance industry and volunteers as a financial literacy coach for underserved communities.
Ashlee Schultz
Manager of Legal Support Services & Strategies/Senior Paralegal
Ashlee Schultz oversees OLAF’s litigation operations, bringing over a decade of expertise in default servicing and legal operations. She specializes in managing portfolios of litigated loans, including title issues, foreclosures, and bankruptcy proceedings, while ensuring compliance with complex regulatory guidelines.
Before joining OLAF, Ashlee served as Default Litigation Supervisor at Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc., where she led a team of specialists, developed policies to enhance operational efficiency, and represented the company as a corporate witness. She also worked as a Bankruptcy/Foreclosure Paralegal at Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit, handling court filings, legal research, and compliance oversight.

Lindsey Zamora
Manager of Billing Operations
Lindsey Zamora brings over 11 years of expertise in billing operations and financial services management, with a passion for optimizing complex workflows and driving operational excellence. At OLAF, Lindsey leads a high-performing billing team, where she focuses on automation, compliance, and maximizing invoicing accuracy. Her background in handling legal billing platforms such as LPS Invoicing and Legal Tracker makes her a vital asset to the organization.
Prior to joining OLAF, Lindsey was instrumental in recovering bulk overdue receivables during her tenure at Vaco, a focus area outside of her scope at the time at Vaco that underscores her tenacity and problem-solving skills. Her experience spans multiple industries, from law firms to government agencies, where she honed her expertise in receivables management and customer service.
Outside of work, Lindsey is a devoted mother and an avid outdoors enthusiast. Based in Orlando, FL, she enjoys spending her weekends hiking and exploring nature with her family. Lindsey is also a dedicated advocate for mental health awareness, using her platform to promote wellness and work-life balance in high-pressure environments.
Hazor Galindo
Supervisor of Collections
Hazor Galindo serves as Collections Supervisor at OLAF, bringing more than 14 years of expertise across accounting, treasury, and mortgage servicing. He has held leadership and operational roles with United Texas Bank, Texas Capital Bank, Mr. Cooper (formerly Nationstar Mortgage), Select Portfolio Servicing, Pacific Union Financial, and Rushmore Loan Management Services, where he built a track record of excellence in cash management, reconciliation, vendor oversight, and regulatory compliance.
Most recently, as AVP Governance & Control Manager at United Texas Bank, Hazor directed a governance team responsible for strengthening vendor management oversight, OFAC compliance, and reconciliation controls. His earlier treasury and deposit operations experience reinforced his expertise in cash flow integrity, wire operations, and financial reporting, while his servicing background sharpened his skill in default portfolio management, payoff processing, ACH drafts, and quality control. He has been consistently recognized with awards for accuracy, training, and performance, underscoring his commitment to results and operational excellence.

Hillary Mathers
Supervisor of Legal Support Services & Strategies
Hillary Mathers is an accomplished Attorney Network Coordinator and Legal Professional with over 9 years of experience in legal operations and coordination. Most recently, she was in a leadership role with ShellPoint Mortgage Servicing Attorney Network Department. In her current role, Hillary is responsible for managing the performance of a wide network of law firms, ensuring they meet stringent benchmarks for foreclosure and bankruptcy cases. She oversees attorney performance scorecards, conducts monthly performance evaluations, and enforces improvement plans where needed. Her ability to analyze complex legal data and provide actionable feedback has significantly improved the efficiency and compliance of the firms under her management.
Hillary’s expertise extends to onboarding new legal firms, overseeing their integration into OLAF and its Clients’ systems, and managing billing approvals, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing for legal services. Having worked in legal services for nearly a decade, Hillary’s passion for legal operations drives her success in maintaining the high standards OLAF is known for. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Hillary enjoys staying active through long-distance running and is an advocate for local youth empowerment programs in her community of Woodruff, SC. Beatriz Reyes serves as Invoice Production Supervisor at OLAF, bringing more than 13 years of experience in billing, collections, and accounting operations. She has built her career across respected firms and organizations including Quintairos Prieto Wood & Boyer, B2 Management & Consulting, Allen Dyer Doppelt + Gilchrist, and Shechtman Halperin Savage LLP.
Throughout her career, Beatriz has specialized in high-volume invoice production, LEDES billing, client audits, and litigation/foreclosure billing, while also leading collections support and compliance initiatives. She is known for her ability to streamline workflows, resolve complex billing challenges, and ensure accuracy across servicer, client, and law firm requirements. In addition to her technical expertise, she has provided leadership support to collections teams, consistently meeting performance metrics while maintaining regulatory and client standards.

Tammie Henry serves as Team Lead of Billing Operations at OLAF, bringing over 20 years of customer service and nearly two decades of law firm billing and operations expertise. She has advanced her career through leadership roles at respected firms including McCarthy & Holthus, BDF Law Group, Mackie Wolf Zientz & Mann, and Barrett Burke Wilson Castle Daffin & Frappier, where she specialized in billing, collections, client management, and quality control across high-volume default servicing portfolios.
Most recently, Tammie led foreclosure sales and administrative operations at McCarthy & Holthus, overseeing production reporting, training, and compliance. Prior to that, as Senior Billing & Collection Specialist at BDF Law Group, she managed accounts receivable, resolved invoice adjustments and denials, and strengthened client relationships by ensuring accuracy and timeliness in billing practices. Her earlier roles across reinstatements, payoffs, and client services gave her deep insight into the end-to-end processes that drive both accuracy and efficiency in legal and servicing operations.

Christina Montanaro is OLAF’s Senior Paralegal and Lead Law Firm Support Specialist, bringing over a decade of experience in legal billing, paralegal support, and client management. In her role, Christina provides comprehensive support to law firms, managing foreclosure, bankruptcy, and litigation cases while ensuring compliance with client billing standards. Her expertise with invoicing systems such as Legal Tracker and Aderant has streamlined OLAF’s legal billing processes, allowing for more efficient workflows and faster dispute resolutions.
Before joining OLAF, Christina held key roles at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, where she managed complex billing portfolios and played a critical role in client communication and financial reporting. Her deep understanding of legal operations and her ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects make her an indispensable leader within OLAF’s legal team.

Tamika Davis, Merritt Webb Wilson and Caruso – General Counsel
Ms. Davis began her legal career in 2001 as an intern with the law firm of Nick Galifianakis & Associates. She was employed by Country Wide Home Loans from 2002-2004. Thereafter, she joined the law firm of Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge, & Rice, PLLC. Ms. Davis became an associate attorney for Merritt, Webb, Wilson & Caruso, PLLC in 2006 and focuses on finance, contracts, family law, and personal injury. While pursuing her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Ms. Davis appeared on the Dean’s List and received annual recognition for outstanding Grade Point Average, was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity and served as a minority advisor for the university. While at North Carolina Central University School of Law, Ms. Davis served as the Vice President of the Women’s Caucus.
